Set Info (SI) lists exhaustive information about a pitch-class (pc) set. Enter a pc-set in the following formats:
Each pc must be represented by only one character; 10 and 11 must be input as T, E or A, B (upper or lower case). Valid characters are: 0-9, 10=A, a, T, t; 11=B, b, E, e. Commas can also be used such as 0, 1, 4, 6, A. Forte-style set class (SC) numbers such as: 3-5 can also be used (representing SC 3-5[016]). For more information, please see Robert D. Morris's set-class table reference document linked here.
Abbreviations used in the resulting SC information table:
N.B. The prime form algorithm used is based on Rahn (1980) instead of Forte (1973). As a result, the prime form will be different from Forte's for these scs: 5-20[01568], 6-29[023679], 6-31[014579], 7-20[0125679], and 8-26[0134579T].
The original version of this program was written in Basic in 1989, then ported to Pascal in 1990 and C in 1991. (Special thanks to Aleck Brinkman and Robert Morris for teaching me the coding concepts and set theory!)
